Every ceremony will be unique and special people in the couples lives can be invited to take part in the ceremony. Ceremonies are secular and do not contain religious references. The ceremony has no legal status and the couple's marriage certificate must be shown before a ceremony can be booked.

Often these ceremonies are arranged with a special wedding anniversary in mind, such as the tenth, twenty-fifth or even golden, but these ceremonies are just as appropriate at any stage of your marriage.

A renewal ceremony can take place at any registration office within Dumfries and Galloway and may also take place in an approved venue.

The basic fee for arrange a ceremony is from £246. Should you choose to hold your ceremony on a Saturday there is an additional fee of £118 payable. Similarly should you choose to hold your ceremony on a Sunday or Public Holiday an additional fee of £178 payable.   These fees will increase for all ceremonies taking place on 1 April 2020 onwards to £271 per ceremony and an additional £130 for a Saturday ceremony or £176 for a Sunday/Public Holiday ceremony.

Enquiries regarding arranging a renewal of vows ceremony can be directed to any Registration Office.
